Biography

As Juice is a man of extremes and eccentricities, some might look at his life partner - Prox - and breathe a sigh of relief upon noticing his laxer posture and friendlier smile.

But looks deceive: inside of Prox boils rage and jealousy, resentment and frustration, bottled by his debilitating illness: without constant validation, Prox is damaged. Any insult, snub, or disregard he suffers flakes away at his body until just blood remains. Only others' sweet words and compliments can reverse the process. He is wholly and utterly dependent on others, whether he wants to be or not.

A lifetime of having his weakness manipulated for others' gain and no seeming explanation for his disability has poisoned Prox. His persona is bright, cheerful, helpful, charming, but his utter hatred for the people around him and their disregard for how lucky they are sours any relationships. His only companion? Party, devoted to protecting him, born hand-in-hand.

And now here they are, new arrivals in the Mags' collective. Supposedly their peers, supposedly their equals. And yet none are afflicted with the same disease Prox is. So how much can he actually trust them...?

Relationship: Life Partner

His life partner, his rock, though he struggles to call what they have "romantic". They've spent their entire lives together, and Prox can't see why that would change. But Party blossoms among the Mags, in a way that Prox doesn't. He's always been the social butterfly of the two, but before it was for survival's sake, and neither of them had ever connected to anyone meaningfully. But now Party gets companionship from the others, and glows like a star, and Prox can't help but grit his teeth a little. Resentment is poison, he reminds himself, but poison is all he's ever known.

Relationship: Friend, Protege

Devy is, in a way, everything he wishes he was. Not a care in the world. Takes for granted that the others will love and accept him. Says whatever the fuck comes to mind, no matter how unhinged or unreal it could be. Just... lives for pleasure. And Prox lives for that, through Devy, encourages his worst aspects. It's all he can cling to, some days.

♥♥♥♡♡ Zmeya

Relationship: ...Friend?

Friend is not a word he hands out lightly. Zmeya and he share a weird dysfunction, hard to put into words. Zmeya is so fucked up that... perhaps it's acceptable to be fucked up around him, in turn. Like two collapsing supernovae feeding off each other's defective energy. He's gotten more chipper in recent years, especially after the Krivaya split, but he's never let go of that untamed, feral self-loathing, so they still occasionally find each other to hang out in near-silence. Or Prox presses fingers into Zmeya's goo and they share an alien sort of intimacy.

♥♥♥♡♡ Shestiugolnik

Relationship: Admirable

Sessy has cultivated such a powerful, wonderful image of himself. It's genuinely admirable, worthy of envy. So many people drink his honey-laced words and writhe at his feet for affection, love, a smile, a nod, a glance. It seems intoxicating, sometimes, but at his core, Prox knows that Sessy knows that it's an act, at least in some aspects. And that would poison the whole thing for him, wouldn't it?

♥♥♡♡♡ Quantum

Relationship: Acquaintance

He sees more of Quantum than he would like, considering how he and Devy are glued together. He doesn't hold the same animosity towards Quantum that Party does (...if it's even animosity anymore) but that doesn't really mean he thinks Quantum is pleasant to be around. Stick in the mud, self-centered... at least he cooks a mean pie.

♥♥♡♡♡ Farley

Relationship: Acquaintance

Kind of smothering, kind of full of anxiety. Tries to put on a Kolo-esque face but he's not Kolo and everyone kind of knows that. Makes Prox wonder why he bothers, especially when he's the only one who can hold a candle to Party in terms of raw power output. Funny he falls so much for Vodo's platitudes. It definitely lowers his opinion of Farley.

♥♥♡♡♡ Krivaya

Relationship: Acquaintance

Doesn't fully get Zmeya and Krivaya's whole... thing... but seeing Krivaya chew the other Mags out fills him with a wicked jealousy. It's the same kind he gets watching Devy, except... Krivaya doesn't get the same amount of rabid adoration Devy does. In fact, the other Mags kind of dislike him. It's vindicating, but it means being close to Krivaya would reflect poorly on Prox, so he's never tried.

♥♥♥♡♡ Kolo

Relationship: Boss... sort of

He vouched for Party and Prox to join the ranks of the Mags when Quantum tried to block their joining. Beyond that, he's kind of a stick in the mud, which is to be expected from a "leader" whose magical limits are below that of his subordinates. Party, bizarrely, seems to really like him.

♡♡♡♡♡ Affine

Relationship: Annoying

Ignorant brat who loves to wallow in self-pity and can't step outside of his victim mindset for half a breath. Takes everything too personally, and makes it everyone else's problem to deal with. So fucking needy, so whiney. How can everyone tolerate Affine, care for Affine, love Affine, when Prox knows if he'd express himself for an iota of a second, he'd be tossed aside and hated like trash?

♡♡♡♡♡ Vodovorot

Relationship: Faker.

How does everyone fall for him. Can they not see in his eyes, in his smiles, that he's a fucking liar? Is the power of a silver tongue really so absolute as to fool even the most powerful, eldest beings in existence? Are they so hopeless as to be swayed by blank cliches generated for the sole purpose to manipulate them? And, underneath all that - what in the world is Vodo's true end goal, obscured as it is?

Trivia

• Sun is Gemini, Moon is Scorpio, Rising is Libra. Associated tarot card is the King of Pentacles, flower is carnation.
• Has called Juice a number of names over the years as Juice has changed his "primary" name, but has called him Party for a long while now. Hates it when other people use "Party" for Juice.
• Ran out of energy to be actively venomous in most of his day-to-day thoughts. Now only turns acrid when his buttons are pushed hard.
• Runs the PR & social media for Juice's underground city, Divinity. Presents a very innocent/cutesy front on the public accounts, but has no private/personal ones.
• Even if some people don't fall for the persona, he's contacted more often than Juice because he comes off as way more sane and reasonable.
• Has a very carefully-constructed bedroom filled with chic blankets, trinkets, products, and bright colors. Most of the time, though, he crashes in Juice's room/bed.
• Does volunteer work as a hobby to get validation, mostly donates time (since Frags don't use money).
• Boxes with Linija to let off steam, though he used to train with Juice. Also collects guns, mostly for show, which he compares to Linija's collection.
• Has intense echolalia. He doesn't notice when he's repeating words, and Juice automatically tunes it out nowadays too.
